Our History

Founding Partner, Joseph “Joe” Gottemoller began as a prosecuter in 1982 in Pontiac, Illinois. In 1984 he moved to Mchenry County and joined Franz, Naughton, & Leahy. In 1990 he joined Ralph Madsen & Henry Sugden III and formed Madsen, Sugden & Gottemoller. In 2018 McHenry County Law was established and today represents one of the area’s most respected and trusted law firms serving Northwest Suburban Chicago.
